WASA Rawalpindi Launches Crackdown on Water Bill Defaulters
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has stepped up action against domestic and commercial consumers with longstanding unpaid water bills.
A recent operation in E Block, Satellite Town, formed part of the agency’s ongoing revenue recovery campaign, conducted on the directions of Managing Director Azizullah Khan.
Defaulters Given Final Opportunity
Senior Special Magistrate Amir Ashfaq Qureshi said consumers were being given a final opportunity to settle outstanding dues.
He warned that failure to pay within the allotted period could lead to water connection disconnection and possible legal proceedings.
Punjab Police assisted WASA teams during the operation.
Recovery Campaign to Continue
Officials said enforcement would continue across the city without discrimination.
The campaign follows earlier directions to intensify recovery in wards 73, 74, 75 and 76. At that review meeting, the managing director also instructed staff to improve water supply schedules and ensure timely, adequate service to consumers.
