SpaceX Spectrum Deal Advances Starlink Mobile Plans

SpaceX Moves Closer to Broader Telecom Services With Spectrum Deal

SpaceX has signed an agreement to acquire Grain Management’s nationwide US 800 MHz spectrum portfolio, strengthening its plans for Starlink Mobile.

Grain announced the transaction on October 8. Completion remains subject to Federal Communications Commission approval and other closing conditions.

Connecting Customers From Ground and Space

According to the announcement, the spectrum is intended to support next-generation satellite direct-to-device services and enable Starlink Mobile connectivity through both ground-based and space-based networks.

The agreement covers the entire portfolio, which Grain acquired from T-Mobile in August 2026.

A Step Towards Wider Mobile Services

The acquisition supports SpaceX’s push beyond satellite broadband into broader mobile connectivity.

However, signing a spectrum agreement does not mean a complete nationwide cellular network is already operational.

What Remains Unconfirmed

The announcement does not provide consumer pricing or a commercial launch date for the proposed combined service.

The deal concerns US spectrum and does not establish availability or regulatory approval in Pakistan.
