Lahore Division Reports 119 Dengue Cases in 2026

Lahore Division Reports 119 Dengue Cases This Year

Lahore Division has recorded 119 dengue cases from January 1 to October 26, 2026, according to figures presented at a divisional review meeting. Lahore district accounted for 103 of the cases.

Officials said all confirmed patients were recovering and no dengue-related deaths had been reported during the period. The figures were discussed at a meeting chaired by Commissioner Lahore Division Nauman Yousaf to review anti-dengue operations and plan further measures.

Commissioner orders continued surveillance

The commissioner directed deputy commissioners in the division’s four districts to keep indoor and outdoor surveillance teams active and check their work daily. He also called for inspections of high-risk locations and the removal of potential mosquito breeding sites from open plots, bushes and graveyards.

Officials said 144 field teams were operating in Lahore, where they had destroyed 264,000 mosquito larvae. Authorities had also carried out intensive surveillance in 23 high-risk union councils.

When larvae are detected, spraying is being extended to 10 surrounding houses, compared with five previously. Teams are placing warning stickers on homes and shops where larvae are found. Officials also reported 864 cases registered in Lahore over violations of dengue prevention measures.

Residents asked to cooperate

The commissioner said October and November remain critical months for dengue prevention and directed departments to maintain surveillance despite falling temperatures. Teams were asked to distribute prevention guidance to households and residents were urged to cooperate with inspections.

Health authorities commonly advise removing standing water and clearing containers where mosquitoes can breed. WHO guidance identifies water-filled containers in and around homes as potential breeding sites.
