Peshawar Northern Bypass Set for Completion by January 31

Peshawar Northern Bypass Now Scheduled for Completion by January 31

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has accelerated work on the Peshawar Northern Bypass, which is now scheduled for completion by January 31, 2027, according to Radio Pakistan’s October 24 report.

Work on Package I has been completed, while progress on other sections remains underway. The report puts completion at 79% for Package II, 82% for Package III-A and 75% for Package III-B. Work on the Charsadda Road Flyover is 25% complete.

The latest schedule is a change from the June 2026 completion date NHA officials had given at a meeting in January. The project has faced repeated delays, with funding and construction issues cited in earlier reporting.

The bypass is intended to help traffic move around Peshawar and support connections between the city and surrounding routes. Its final impact will depend on completion of the remaining sections and associated structures. The NHA progress figures are reported as of the latest update; the January 31 date is a target, not confirmation that the project has been completed.
