MSC Restores Weekly Karachi–Europe Shipping Service

MSC Restores Weekly Shipping Service Between Karachi and Europe

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has reinstated its PREMIUM IPAK service, restoring a dedicated shipping connection between Karachi and major European ports.

Maritime Affairs Minister Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced the development on October 8, following exporters’ requests for improved connectivity.

Weekly Calls and European Destinations

The service will call weekly at Karachi Gateway Terminal International.

Its route includes Colombo and seven European destinations: Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Le Havre and London Gateway.

More Options for Exporters

The minister said the restored service would support export-oriented businesses, particularly textile manufacturers facing longer journeys and higher logistics costs.

It is expected to give exporters greater flexibility when planning shipments. The announcement did not specify freight rates or transit-time savings.

Wider Shipping Challenges Continue

Chaudhry cautioned that restoring this connection does not resolve the broader disruptions affecting international shipping.

He said the government would continue working with exporters and shipping companies to improve connectivity and address logistics difficulties.
