Xiaomi MiMo-V2.6-Pro Gains Ground Against Leading AI Models
Xiaomi is attracting attention beyond consumer electronics as its MiMo-V2.6-Pro model delivers competitive results in independent AI testing.
The model scores 46 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. According to reported comparisons, that result placed it at the top of the open-weight rankings at the time of reporting.
Strong Benchmark Performance
The Intelligence Index combines multiple evaluations covering capabilities such as reasoning, knowledge, mathematics and coding.
MiMo’s result illustrates Xiaomi’s growing competitiveness, although a combined benchmark score does not establish that a model performs best on every task.
Developers still need to assess reliability, speed and performance on their own workloads. Rankings can also change as competing models and evaluations are updated.
Large Model With Selective Processing
MiMo-V2.6-Pro has approximately one trillion total parameters, with around 42 billion active during processing.
Its mixture-of-experts architecture activates selected components rather than using the entire model for every token.
The model also supports a one-million-token context window, allowing substantial amounts of material to be supplied in a single request. That capacity does not guarantee equally accurate handling of every part of a long input.
Open Weights Expand Deployment Options
The model’s weights are publicly available, giving developers the option to download them for self-hosting.
This provides greater deployment flexibility, although running a model of this size requires considerable computing resources.
API access offers another route for developers who want to integrate the model without managing the underlying hardware.
Xiaomi Targets Complex AI Workflows
Xiaomi positions its MiMo models for demanding applications, including software engineering, research and workflows that use external tools.
Its official research programme also covers long-running coding agents and applications in materials research.
The benchmark results suggest that Xiaomi is becoming a more significant participant in advanced AI development. Its practical competitiveness will depend on how well those capabilities translate into reliable, cost-effective performance outside testing.
