Pakistan Raises Petrol Price by 88 Paisa, Cuts Diesel by Rs1.88

The federal government has increased petrol prices by Rs0.88 per litre and reduced high-speed diesel prices by Rs1.88 under the latest revision, effective October 6, 2026.

According to reported official updates, petrol now costs Rs393.64 per litre, while high-speed diesel is priced at Rs397.76.

Revised Petrol and Diesel Prices

FuelPrevious PriceRevised PriceChange
PetrolRs392.76Rs393.64Up Rs0.88
High-speed dieselRs399.64Rs397.76Down Rs1.88

All prices are per litre.

The announcement brings a small increase for petrol consumers and a reduction for those purchasing high-speed diesel.

Why Fuel Prices Changed

According to the Petroleum Division’s reported explanation, the adjustments reflect changes in international pricing benchmarks, premiums and related costs.

Petrol and diesel can move in different directions during the same review because their respective pricing inputs differ.

What the Revision Means for Consumers

Calculated from the announced adjustments, purchasing 50 litres of petrol now costs Rs44 more than before. Buying the same quantity of high-speed diesel costs Rs94 less.

At the revised rates, a 50-litre purchase totals Rs19,682 for petrol and Rs19,888 for diesel.

These figures show the direct change in fuel expenditure. Any effect on transport fares or goods prices will depend on operators’ wider costs and pricing decisions.

Rates Apply From October 6

The revised petrol and diesel prices apply from October 6, 2026. They represent this specific price update and remain subject to subsequent government revisions.
