Samsung Galaxy M08 and F08 Launch With 6,000mAh Batteries and 50MP Cameras
Samsung has expanded its budget smartphone portfolio with the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08, two closely related 4G phones built around large 6,000mAh batteries, MediaTek’s Helio G99+ processor and long-term software support.
Both smartphones were officially listed by Samsung India on October 1, 2026, although they were not yet available for purchase through Samsung’s website when checked.
The M08 and F08 share almost all of their core specifications, including a 6.7-inch HD+ display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, dual rear cameras and 25W wired charging.
Their biggest differences at launch appear to be branding, sales channel and color: Samsung lists the Galaxy M08 in Silver and the Galaxy F08 in Dark Blue.
Samsung Galaxy M08 and F08 Are Now Official
Samsung quietly added both phones to its Indian website rather than holding a major launch event.
The Galaxy M series is traditionally associated strongly with Samsung’s online-focused budget and mid-range portfolio, while the Galaxy F series is another value-focused family offered in markets such as India.
In this case, the M08 and F08 are particularly similar.
Samsung lists both with:
- MediaTek Helio G99+ processor
- 4GB RAM
- 64GB internal storage
- 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD
- 50MP + 2MP rear cameras
- 8MP selfie camera
- 6,000mAh battery
- 25W wired charging
- IP64 dust and splash resistance
- MicroSD expansion up to 2TB
- Six generations of operating-system upgrades
- Six years of security updates
For buyers, this means the decision between the two models may eventually depend more on pricing and availability than hardware.
6.7-Inch HD+ Display
Both phones feature a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with a resolution of 720 × 1600 pixels.
Samsung describes the panels as HD+ displays designed for everyday activities such as browsing, social media and video playback.
The lower HD+ resolution is one area where Samsung is clearly controlling costs.
A Full HD+ panel would offer sharper text and images, particularly on a screen of this size, but HD+ displays can also consume less processing power and potentially reduce battery usage.
Some independent launch coverage reports a 90Hz refresh rate for the phones. However, Samsung’s detailed specification pages reviewed by Info-Matix list the resolution and panel technology without explicitly stating a numerical refresh rate.
For that reason, the safest approach is to describe them as HD+ PLS LCD phones unless Samsung adds the refresh-rate figure to its formal specifications.
MediaTek Helio G99+ Processor
Samsung is using the MediaTek Helio G99+ in both smartphones.
The official product pages identify an octa-core CPU running at up to 2.2GHz, while Samsung’s marketing material specifically names the platform as Helio G99+.
The chipset is paired with:
4GB RAM
and
64GB storage.
This is an entry-level memory configuration by 2026 standards, but Samsung includes RAM Plus functionality for virtual memory expansion.
The phones are aimed more at everyday tasks such as WhatsApp, YouTube, web browsing, social networking and light gaming than demanding mobile gaming or intensive multitasking.
Up to 2TB of Expandable Storage
One useful feature is the dedicated microSD support.
Samsung officially lists memory-card expansion of up to 2TB.
That could be particularly useful because the phones provide only 64GB of built-in storage.
Samsung’s own specification pages indicate that approximately 45.6GB is available to the user before additional apps and personal data are added.
The devices have separate support for:
- SIM 1
- SIM 2
- MicroSD card
This means users do not need to sacrifice a second SIM simply to add storage.
50MP Main Camera
The Galaxy M08 and F08 use an identical dual-camera setup on the back.
The system consists of:
- 50MP main camera, f/1.8
- 2MP secondary camera, f/2.4
The primary sensor supports autofocus but does not include optical image stabilization.
Samsung lists digital zoom up to 10x.
Video recording reaches a maximum of:
1920 × 1080 at 30 frames per second.
There is also an LED flash.
The 2MP secondary sensor is unlikely to add the versatility of an ultrawide or telephoto lens and is more typical of the simple auxiliary sensors used on lower-cost smartphones.
8MP Selfie Camera
On the front, both phones have an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
It uses fixed focus and does not include optical stabilization.
The camera is primarily intended for:
- Selfies
- Video calls
- Social media
- Face-based camera functions
The front camera specifications are identical on the M08 and F08.
6,000mAh Battery Is a Major Selling Point
Battery capacity is one of the strongest specifications.
Both devices feature a 6,000mAh typical battery, with Samsung listing a rated minimum capacity of 5,830mAh.
That is substantially larger than the 5,000mAh capacity still commonly found in many smartphones.
Combined with the HD+ display and 4G chipset, the large battery should make endurance one of the phones’ main attractions.
Actual battery life will still depend on screen brightness, network conditions, gaming, background applications and other usage patterns.
25W Fast Charging
The Galaxy M08 and F08 support 25W wired fast charging.
Samsung confirms, however, that the 25W charger is sold separately.
That means buyers who do not already own a compatible USB-C Power Delivery charger may need to factor the cost of an adapter into the purchase.
While 25W is considerably slower than the 45W, 67W and higher charging speeds available from several competing Chinese manufacturers, Samsung has generally remained conservative with charging speeds across much of its smartphone portfolio.
IP64 Dust and Splash Protection
Both phones come with an IP64 rating.
The first digit means the phones are rated for strong protection against dust ingress, while the second indicates protection against splashing water.
Samsung explicitly markets both devices as dust and splash resistant.
However, IP64 does not mean the phones are designed for underwater use.
They should not be treated like IP67 or IP68 smartphones that have been tested for temporary water immersion.
Samsung also notes that splash and dust resistance can decrease over time through normal wear.
Six Generations of Android Upgrades
Long software support is arguably one of the M08 and F08’s most distinctive features for budget phones.
Samsung promises:
Six generations of OS upgrades
and
Six years of security updates.
Samsung’s support pages show manuals for Android 17, while the product listings state that security support is valid until September 30, 2032.
This means buyers who keep their phones for several years could receive software support significantly longer than is traditionally expected from low-cost Android devices.
The actual timing of individual Android upgrades can vary by market.
Circle to Search Comes to Samsung’s Budget Phones
Samsung is also bringing Circle to Search with Google to the M08 and F08.
The feature allows users to search for objects, text or images shown on the screen without manually opening a separate search app.
Samsung notes that internet connectivity is required and that availability can differ depending on country, language and supported applications.
The inclusion of a feature typically associated with more expensive Galaxy devices reflects Samsung’s broader effort to bring selected software capabilities further down its product range.
Knox Vault and Quick Share
The Galaxy F08’s official feature page explicitly advertises Samsung Knox Vault and Quick Share.
Knox Vault is designed to provide hardware-backed protection for sensitive information such as passwords, PINs and authentication data.
Quick Share allows users to transfer files between compatible devices.
The M08 also receives Samsung’s broader Galaxy security and sharing experience, although exact software availability can depend on region and firmware.
4G Rather Than 5G
Neither phone supports 5G.
Samsung lists connectivity for:
- 2G
- 3G
- 4G LTE
along with dual-SIM support.
That is an important limitation for buyers planning to keep the phone for many years, particularly as 5G networks continue to expand internationally.
However, excluding a 5G modem can help reduce the manufacturing cost of entry-level phones.
For users who primarily need a low-cost device for existing 4G networks, this may be less significant.
Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3
Wireless connectivity includes:
- Dual-band Wi-Fi 5
- Bluetooth 5.3
- GPS
- GLONASS
- BeiDou
- Galileo
- QZSS
- USB Type-C
Samsung also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature that has disappeared from most premium smartphones but remains useful in budget devices.
USB connectivity is limited to USB 2.0 speeds.
Side-Mounted Fingerprint Sensor
Both phones include a fingerprint sensor integrated into the side of the device.
The remaining sensor package includes:
- Accelerometer
- Light sensor
- Proximity sensor
Samsung does not list advanced premium sensors typically seen on flagship phones, which is expected given the devices’ budget positioning.
Galaxy M08 and F08 Dimensions
The two phones have identical physical dimensions:
167.4 × 77.4 × 8.0mm
and weigh:
197 grams.
Despite the large 6,000mAh batteries, Samsung has kept thickness at 8mm.
The weight remains under 200 grams, which is relatively reasonable for a large-screen phone with this battery capacity.
Galaxy M08 Comes in Silver
Samsung’s Indian product page lists the Galaxy M08 in Silver.
This is one area where the official listing provides newer information than some launch reports, which initially said colors had not yet been announced.
Samsung could potentially introduce additional colors later, but Silver is the confirmed version listed at launch.
Galaxy F08 Comes in Dark Blue
The Galaxy F08 is listed in Dark Blue on Samsung India’s website.
Again, this contradicts early coverage stating that the color options had not been revealed.
For Info-Matix, the official Samsung listings should take precedence.
Galaxy M08 vs Galaxy F08: What Is the Difference?
In terms of core hardware, there is almost no meaningful difference based on Samsung’s currently published specifications.
| Specification | Galaxy M08 | Galaxy F08 |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD | 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD |
| Processor | Helio G99+ | Helio G99+ |
| RAM | 4GB | 4GB |
| Storage | 64GB | 64GB |
| MicroSD | Up to 2TB | Up to 2TB |
| Main Camera | 50MP + 2MP | 50MP + 2MP |
| Selfie Camera | 8MP | 8MP |
| Battery | 6,000mAh | 6,000mAh |
| Charging | 25W | 25W |

| Security Updates | 6 years | 6 years |
| Weight | 197g | 197g |
| Thickness | 8mm | 8mm |
| Confirmed Color | Silver | Dark Blue |
The phones therefore appear to be essentially channel-specific versions of the same underlying device.
Independent reporting similarly describes the M08 and F08 as closely related to the Galaxy A08 platform.
Galaxy M08 and F08 Price
Samsung had not published an official retail price for either the Galaxy M08 or Galaxy F08 on its Indian product pages when checked.
Both official listings were marked “Not for sale.”
A third-party report has suggested that both could eventually be priced around INR 16,999, but this remains unofficial until Samsung confirms pricing.
Info-Matix should therefore avoid presenting INR 16,999 as the confirmed launch price.
Galaxy M08 and F08 Price in Pakistan
Samsung has not announced the Galaxy M08 or Galaxy F08 for Pakistan.
No official Pakistani pricing or release date has been confirmed.
Any local prices appearing online before a Samsung Pakistan announcement should therefore be treated as estimates or importer pricing rather than official retail prices.
The M and F series can also differ significantly in availability between regions, so an Indian launch does not automatically mean both models will receive an official Pakistan release.
Are They Good Budget Phones?
On paper, the phones focus heavily on practical features rather than premium hardware.
Their strongest points include:
- Large 6,000mAh battery
- Long software-support commitment
- 50MP main camera
- MicroSD expansion
- IP64 protection
- Headphone jack
- Samsung software ecosystem
The main compromises include the HD+ display resolution, 4GB RAM, limited 64GB storage and lack of 5G.
Whether either model represents strong value will depend heavily on the final price.
At a low enough price, Samsung’s six-generation Android update commitment could give the phones an advantage over some similarly priced rivals.
At a higher price, however, buyers may find competing devices offering Full HD+ screens, 5G connectivity, more RAM or faster charging.
One Major Advantage: Software Longevity
Budget Android phones have historically received far fewer updates than flagship models.
Samsung’s promise of six OS generations changes that equation.
For someone buying a low-cost phone and intending to replace it after one or two years, the extended support may not matter greatly.
For users who keep smartphones for four or five years, though, continued security updates and newer Android releases can become a meaningful advantage.
The challenge will be whether the modest 4GB RAM and entry-level hardware remain comfortable to use after multiple major operating-system upgrades.
Software support length and long-term performance are related but not identical issues.
Who Are These Phones For?
The M08 and F08 appear best suited to buyers who prioritize:
- Battery endurance
- Basic everyday performance
- Samsung’s software ecosystem
- Long software support
- Expandable storage
- A familiar brand
- 4G connectivity
- A relatively simple camera setup
They are less suitable for users seeking premium gaming performance, 5G, high-resolution displays or advanced photography.
Samsung is clearly positioning the phones as practical long-term budget devices rather than inexpensive versions of its flagship Galaxy S series.
Bottom Line
Samsung’s Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 are closely related budget smartphones built around the same core hardware.
Both feature a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD, MediaTek Helio G99+ chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 50MP main camera, 8MP selfie camera and a large 6,000mAh battery with 25W charging.
They also receive IP64 dust and splash resistance, Circle to Search and an unusually strong commitment of six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
Samsung lists the M08 in Silver and the F08 in Dark Blue, correcting early reports that their colors had not yet been announced.
The major unanswered question is pricing. Samsung had not yet posted official retail prices or sale dates when the devices were checked, and neither phone has been confirmed for Pakistan.
Their value will therefore depend heavily on where Samsung ultimately positions them against increasingly competitive budget 4G and 5G smartphones.
